Wesport’s vision is to work collaboratively to increase, promote, support and celebrate lifelong participation in sport and physical activity. The Charity needed to raise the profile of Westport and generate income to support the delivery of sport in the West of England. This was particularly critical due to the cuts in public funding.

The Context

The West of England Sport Trust is an Independent Registered Charity through the Wesport core team as well as a network of over 50 organisations that work collectively to promote lifelong participation in sport and physical activity for all. Wesport has built strong foundations across 20 national governing bodies of sport, school sports partnerships and many other organisations in the public and private sector. With the squeeze on public sector funding and the potential knock on effects into the private sector, Wesport needs to ensure that it can maintain investment, secure new backing and provide the services and support needed to increase participation in sport.

The Solution

Chocolate Dog Marketing Services undertook a marketing review in conjunction with an assessment of best practice so that Wesport could develop a smart and effective marketing action plan tailored to the resources available. The Output: Wesport are appointing a marketing officer, have redefined their target audiences and are rebranding their programmes to appeal to their target audiences.
